
The Shadows were originally formed as a backing band for Cliff Richard originally called The Drifters they created a distinctive sound which exerted a strong influence on other young British musicians in the 1960s and beyond. The original members were lead guitarist Hank B. Marvin rhythm guitarist Bruce Welch bassist Jet Harris and drummer Tony Meehan and later members included drummer Brian Bennett and bassist John Rostill The packaging of hits in this "Twenty Golden Greats" 1977 compilation album by by EMI led to a number one album and prompted the group to re-form for a 'Twenty Golden Dates' tour around the UK. The sleeve and original inner are in excellent condition and the vinyl album is mint and unplayed.
